Friday night, while waiting for my beau in the dreaded mall, I ever so innocently found myself seated across from a shoe store, and it wasn’t long before I was in there browsing. I’ve had very good luck finding vegetarian shoes at Spring (formerly known as Transit) in the past, although I’ve only purchased from their online store before. The website often doesn’t identify which shoes are vegetarian, but the return policy is awesome. Anything leather, ill-fitting, or unforgivably fug off-screen, I can return right in the brick-and-mortar store in my local mall.

Anyhow, while browsing in the store, I spotted an absolutely gorgeous aubergine satin peep-toe pump with a large, delicately detailed pewter-esque buckle on the toe. And the kicker: it was on sale for fifteen bucks! I got my hopes up, but alas, they only had it in size 6. I came home and looked for it on their website, but they only have it in black. Still pretty, but just not as fabu as in that deep purple lustre.

Couldn’t find a pic of the purple one, but behold, in black:

I suppose it was for the best anyway. A funky purple pump was destined to end up in the “what the heck am I going to wear with this?” pile.

While I was there, I did spot another fabulous shoe; a black sequined peep-toe pump. Alas, the store was so busy and the sales girls so swamped that after waiting for ten minutes for a size check on the previous shoe, I just forgot about the sequined pump and left. Good for my budget and my rapidly dwindling closet space, but I am kind of wishing I had brought this one home. The website doesn’t have half-sizes, so I may head to the mall again tomorrow to try it on, to avoid a whole online transaction and return if it doesn’t fit.

Blog note: I’ve been having trouble uploading photos through WordPress lately, resulting in a posting backlog. I couldn’t get Picasa to work either. My friend Val suggested I try using flickr for these photos, and it seems to be working! (Thanks Val!)

*update: Flickr mysteriously ate my account. It’s still there, but I can’t access it. hrmph..
